Golf Park Mikołów is an 18-hole, par-72 public course located in Mikołów, Poland, within the grounds of the Silesian Botanical Garden. The course layout is divided into two classic nine-hole loops, both starting and finishing at the clubhouse, featuring a configuration of two par-3s, two par-5s, and four par-4s per nine. The course was designed by Bogdan Uliasz, the first president of the Golf Park Mikołów Association, with landscape architecture by Marta Hirsz. The design integrates the golf fairways with the garden's plant collections, creating a park-style setting where the flora separates the holes. The course is built on a 56-hectare site and is characterized by its parkland setting, which includes eight water hazards in the form of ponds and a varied terrain that increases in difficulty as the round progresses. The front nine is designed to build gradually, with difficulty peaking at the seventh and eighth holes. The back nine features a notable 150-meter par-3 tenth hole that plays over a pond, followed by a more accessible eleventh hole. The course concludes with a demanding 560-meter par-5 seventeenth hole, leading into a short, technical par-4 eighteenth hole that plays over water. Golf Park Mikołów was constructed through a unique community effort, with the clubhouse, driving range, and the first nine holes built by volunteers and association members without government subsidies. The facility officially opened on June 4, 2016, with the first nine holes operational that year. The second nine holes were completed in 2017, and the full 18-hole course was finished in 2018. The course is designed to accommodate both advanced players and beginners, offering a mix of challenging and accessible holes to ensure a varied experience. The course has hosted various local tournaments, including the Hemlecki Cup & Friends and events where players like Szymon Mil have achieved notable victories. The facility also includes a practice area with three greens, a driving range, and a simulator, supporting both casual play and structured training. The course's integration with the botanical garden's collections provides a unique environment for golfers, distinguishing it from standard parkland courses in the region.
