Golf de Sainte-Maxime ☆ Follow

Located in Sainte-Maxime on the French Riviera, the Golf de Sainte-Maxime is an 18-hole course designed by architects Peter and Don Harradine. Opened in 1991, the layout was developed in two phases, with the first nine holes established on the site of a former military course before the remaining nine were added. The course is set within the Provençal garrigue, a landscape characterized by the presence of umbrella pines that dominate the terrain and frame the fairways. The setting provides sweeping views of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, with the course situated under the Massif des Maures. The terrain features significant elevation changes, including a steep slope leading to the clubhouse that has been noted as a distinctive feature of the site's topography. The layout challenges golfers with a variety of distances, ranging from short par-3s like the 166-yard fourth hole to long par-5s such as the 517-yard second hole from the back tees. The course hosts regular competitive events, most notably the Grand Prix de Sainte Maxime, which draws participants from the local golfing community. The club maintains an active competitive calendar and is known for its friendly atmosphere, supported by extensive practice facilities including a large practice area and putting green. The restaurant on-site offers dining with a terrace overlooking the golf course and the bay beyond.
