Located in Pessat, Saint-Germain-de-Belvès in the Dordogne, the Golf de Lolivarie is an 18-hole, par-72 course set within a 66-hectare estate in the heart of the Périgord Noir. The layout is divided into two distinct nines that create a near-symmetrical layout with the clubhouse positioned between them. The original nine holes, designed by Jean Duc and established in 1984, are comparatively flat and run alongside a small creek. The second nine was added in 2001 by owners Simone and André Azoulay, introducing a design inspired by typical American courses with generous fairway space and significant hazards around the greens. The course offers multiple tee options to accommodate various skill levels, with the white tees measuring 6,000 meters. The course rating and slope vary by tee, with the white tees carrying a slope of 132 and a SSS of 72.6, while the yellow tees offer a slope of 128 and a SSS of 70.9. The front nine presents a technical challenge where players must navigate a small creek bordering almost all holes, featuring delicate greens that require precise approach shots. The back nine allows for more aggressive play, featuring three par-5s that encourage the use of the driver. The signature hole is the 12th, a 297-meter par-4 that requires players to carry two ponds to reach an almost island green, a feature that evokes the style of Florida courses. Another notable challenge is the 14th, the longest hole on the course at 536 meters from the white tees. The course also features a double plateau green on the 4th hole and a deep, difficult-to-align 3rd hole that measures 153 meters from the white tees. Lolivarie Golf Club hosts more than 200 tournaments annually, maintaining a reputation for hosting competitive events. The facility includes a golf academy, a practice area with approach holes, and a putting green. The estate also features a clubhouse with a brasserie, known as "Le Par 6," and a brewery, providing amenities for players after their round.
