The Club de Golf Municipal Dallaire is an 18-hole, par-71 golf course located in Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec. Situated within the Abitibi-Témiscamingue region, the layout spans 6,066 yards and is designed to accommodate golfers of varying skill levels. The course is set amidst a natural landscape described as wild and beautiful, integrating the surrounding environment into the playing experience. The club’s origins trace back to 1971, when Louis-Philippe Dallaire purchased his brother Victorin’s 125-acre farm. Construction of the initial nine holes began in May 1972, with the first nine holes opening for play in 1973. The remaining nine holes were completed by July 1974, marking the start of the club's first full season. Following a financial crisis, the City of Rouyn-Noranda acquired the property, and in May 1982, an agreement was signed to transfer ownership to the golfers' association. This led to the formation of the Club de golf municipal Dallaire, which was legally constituted on June 3, 1982. The course has maintained its operations through a combination of municipal ownership and dedicated volunteer efforts. Over the decades, the club has been managed by a structure that includes administrative oversight and significant community involvement. The layout remains a central feature of the local golfing scene, offering a consistent challenge across its 18 holes while preserving the natural character of the original farmland.
