Golf Club Le Fronde is an 18-hole parkland course located in Avigliana at the entrance of the Susa Valley in northern Italy. The course spans 70 hectares of mixed terrain, combining hilly and flat sections. Designed by John Harris in the early 1970s, the par-71 layout measures approximately 6,000 meters and presents considerable technical challenge despite its moderate length.
The course features strategic positioning of lakes, bunkers, and centuries-old trees that demand precise shot-making. Each hole offers panoramic views of the valley's mountains, notably the Rocciamelone and the Sacra di San Michele. A unique historical element distinguishes Le Fronde: the course was built on the site of a former Nobel explosives factory, with some original bunkers and structures integrated into the design.
Described as a relatively long and narrow parkland layout, the course alternates between demanding holes and more relaxed sections, providing varied playing experiences. The club has hosted prestigious tournaments over its 50-year history. Facilities include a welcoming clubhouse with a restaurant, bar, fitness center, and swimming pool.
