Golf Club Cà della Nave is an 18-hole, par-72 championship course located in Martellago, near Venice, Italy. Designed by Arnold Palmer and inaugurated in 1988, the course spans 75 hectares of Venetian countryside. It was the first of three courses Palmer designed in Italy during the late 1980s. The layout features a total length of 6,350 meters and is characterized by extensive water hazards, with artificial lakes impacting 12 of the 18 holes. The terrain is defined by a mix of technical challenges and natural beauty. Large American-style bunkers are scattered along the fairways, guarding extended and fast greens. The course is known for its abundance of water obstacles, which create significant strategic demands for golfers. The final hole, the 18th, concludes in a natural amphitheater setting within the park, offering a distinctive finish to the round. Maturity of the course has increased its difficulty over time. While the original design allowed for some leniency due to the initial state of the vegetation, the growth of trees and the established landscape now present a more rigorous test. The combination of the dense vegetation, the imposing bunkers, and the water hazards creates a challenging environment that ranks among the top competitive courses in Italy. The course hosted the Italian Women's Open at its opening in 1988, establishing its pedigree for tournament play. Beyond the championship 18, the facility also includes a nine-hole executive course, part of the broader 27-hole layout developed by Palmer on the site. The club provides practice facilities, including a covered and uncovered driving range and a putting green, alongside a pro shop and cart services.
