Gold Canyon Golf Resort features two championship 18-hole public courses: Dinosaur Mountain and Sidewinder, both with four-star ratings from Golf Digest. Dinosaur Mountain was built in 1982 and designed by Ken Kavanaugh. Dinosaur Mountain stretches 6,711 yards and is laid out in the foothills of the Superstition Mountains with a wild, undulating and dramatic layout featuring wonderful elevation changes and many stunning golf holes, particularly on the signature stretch from the par-5 third to the long par-3 fifth, taking golfers up, over and around Dinosaur Mountain with many dramatic tee-to-green elevation changes.
The Sidewinder course is an 18-hole layout at par-71 measuring 6,530 yards from the back tees. Sidewinder slithers about the base of Dinosaur Mountain among arroyos and dry creeks, with indigenous cacti like cholla and prickly pear and trees like mesquite and palo verde featuring along the testing curves. Sidewinder features water features, gently rolling fairways, undulating greens and pristine Sonoran Desert vegetation. Dinosaur Mountain has been rated the #1 public course in Arizona for several years. The courses are located at 6100 S Kings Ranch Rd, Gold Canyon, AZ 85118.
