Glencairn Golf Club is a 27-hole links-style course located in Halton Hills, Ontario, just west of Toronto, designed by Thomas McBroom. The course features steep pot bunkers and fescue rough framed across the undulating landscape of the Niagara Escarpment, with burns (narrow streams) cutting through the heaving terrain. The ever-present wind that buffets the area adds to the challenge and authenticity of the Scottish links experience.
The course is characterized by tight lies surrounding mammoth undulating greens that demand creative shot-making. The design emphasizes the natural topography and challenging playing conditions typical of traditional links golf. The clubhouse, modeled after Scotland's Muirfield and featuring a distinctive multi-turreted Scottish castle architecture, includes the Friar Pub and event facilities. The club is part of the ClubLink golf network and offers membership programs, instruction through a game improvement academy, and junior and adult programs.
