Located in Mikashi, Hyogo Prefecture, the Yokawa Course at Hanayashiki Golf Club is a 18-hole, par-72 layout designed by the renowned architect Osamu Ueda. Ueda, who studied forestry and landscape architecture at Kyoto University, is celebrated for his bold, masculine designs that utilize significant earth-moving to shape the terrain. His work is often characterized by pistol-shaped greens and Allison-style bunkers, reflecting the influence of Charles Hugh Alison, under whom Ueda worked early in his career. The course measures 6,840 yards from the back tees, with a course rating of 73.8 and a slope rating of 140. The front nine covers 3,477 yards, while the back nine runs 3,363 yards. The layout features a mix of par-3s, par-4s, and par-5s, with handicap indices ranging from 1 to 18. The longest hole is the 524-yard 5th hole, while the shortest is the 158-yard 3rd. Key challenges on the course include the 504-yard 10th hole, a par-5 with a handicap of 8, and the 518-yard 16th hole, a par-5 with a handicap of 12. The par-3s provide varied distances, with the 7th hole measuring 203 yards and the 15th hole measuring 205 yards. The course offers multiple tee options, including regular and ladies' tees, with yardages ranging from 5,143 yards for the ladies' tees to 6,840 yards for the men's back tees. The setting is in the hilly terrain of Hyogo Prefecture, consistent with Ueda's preference for mountainous landscapes in the Kansai region. The course is part of the Hanayashiki Golf Club, which also operates the Hirono Course. The club provides various facilities, including a restaurant and practice areas, to support players throughout their round.
