Located in Niigata Prefecture, Aga Kogen Golf Club is a 27-hole resort set within a natural forest on hilly terrain. The layout is divided into three distinct nine-hole courses named Kaede, Buna, and Keyaki, each designed to maximize the strategic use of the natural topography. The facility is equipped with motorized carts to assist with the undulating landscape. The Kaede Course, which is currently open for play, measures 3,444 yards for the front nine with a par of 36. It features a mix of par-3, par-4, and par-5 holes, including a 558-yard 3rd hole and a 532-yard 6th hole. The Keyaki Course, currently closed, offers a front nine of 3,384 yards and par 36, highlighted by a 551-yard 2nd hole and a 535-yard 4th hole. The course is defined by its strategic layout, which takes advantage of the surrounding steep mountain views and abundant trees. Players encounter significant ups and downs throughout the rounds, with narrow approach points that add a tricky element to the game. The design encourages golfers to navigate the natural contours of the highland terrain, offering a challenging experience that changes character with the seasons, from the fresh green of spring and summer to the vibrant autumn foliage.
