Tatsuno Classic Golf Club is a 18-hole, par 72 course located in Tatsuno City, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan. Designed by Mitsuta Ishami and opened in October 1994, the facility is set in a hilly landscape that offers panoramic views from every tee box. The course layout is divided into an out course of 3,387 yards and an in course of 3,566 yards, totaling 6,953 yards from the back tees. The greens are maintained with bentgrass, and the design emphasizes strategic variety, featuring doglegs, downhill shots, and hazards that require players to adapt their approach based on their skill level. The front nine presents a mix of par fours and a demanding par five fifth hole, which stretches to 590 yards from the back tees. The back nine continues this strategic theme, highlighted by the signature seventeenth hole, known as the Floating Island. This par four measures 361 yards from the regular tees and is noted for its aesthetic appeal and strategic complexity. The course also features a notable par three twelfth hole at 195 yards and a long par five eighteenth hole at 590 yards, providing a balanced test of distance and accuracy. Historically, the club opened shortly before the Great Hanshin Earthquake in January 1995, which necessitated course modifications. In 1996, construction work extended the length of the out course to enhance the playing experience. The facility has evolved with modern amenities, including the introduction of GPS cart navigation in 2021. While the course does not host major professional tournaments, it maintains an active schedule of internal competitions, such as the Captain Cup and monthly regular cups, reflecting its role as a dedicated venue for local golf enthusiasts.
