Gaines County Golf Course was originally built as a 9-hole course by Warren Cantrell and opened in 1958, then was updated with a back nine in 1991. The back nine layout was designed by Jim Terry, and the front nine greens were renovated in 2017 by Greensmith of Texas. The course is located virtually between Seagraves and Seminole on Highway 385, on the west side of the road about 7-8 minutes from either town.

The 18-hole course features 6,685 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. Although the terrain is challenging, the layout boasts plenty of trees and a good amount of elevation, and the course's most notable amenity is its large, fast, and extremely well-kept greens. Every par 3 requires a long iron, but the demanding par 4s are the attention-getters, with two par 4s standing out as above average in difficulty for courses in this remote area.

A proud highlight in Gaines County Golf's history, the course hosted Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer in 1963. The facility includes a fully stocked pro shop, practice range facilities, and is known for maintaining excellent course conditions across both fairways and greens.
