The course is set in a natural woodland setting with lakes and grasses, featuring a layout that includes a double green shared by the 9th and 18th holes. The turf consists of Tifsport Bermuda for the fairways and Tifeagle for the greens, a surface noted for its performance on warm-season courses. The course presents a significant test of skill, with holes ranging from 164 yards to 588 yards, and features heavily contoured greens, water hazards, and strategic bunkering throughout. The layout is characterized by its demanding nature, requiring precision off the tee and careful approach shots. Notable holes include the 7th, "Lovell," a 221-yard par 3 with a diagonally sloped green protected by large bunkers, and the 18th, "Festival," a 545-yard par 5 where players must carry a lake to reach the green in two. The 6th hole, "Be Alert," features a long narrow lake down the left side and a heavily contoured green, while the 11th, "Cauldron," is a 177-yard par 3 that plays downward to a green far below the tee. The course also includes par 5s such as the 8th, "Long Ping," at 588 yards, which plays uphill for the final 200 yards, and the 5th, "Horseman Warrior," at 552 yards, which is reachable in two shots for skilled players. Foshan Golf Club has established itself as a prominent venue for professional golf, having hosted the Foshan Open. The club has received numerous accolades, including recognition as one of the Top Ten Most Outstanding Golf Courses by Golf Vacations in multiple years from 2013 to 2023, and has been listed in the Top 10 Golf Clubs in China by Golf Digest.
