Folkston Golf Club is an 18-hole public golf course located in southern Georgia, approximately 30 miles north of Jacksonville. Originally designed by Ed Matson and opened in 1954, the course was renovated in 2009 by golf enthusiasts and investors.
The course features a par-72 layout with distinct characteristics between its nines. The front nine is relatively short and includes water hazards on three holes. The back nine plays longer and is characterized by numerous man-made hills that create uneven lies throughout play. Pecan and cedar trees line the fairways, while multiple sand bunkers are strategically positioned across the course.
The facility includes a driving range and is situated in a region offering access to recreational opportunities including the nearby Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge. The course presents a moderate challenge with its combination of water features, elevation changes, and strategic bunker placement.
