The course measures 6,045 yards with a par of 70 and was established in 1912. Set on the banks of the River Ribble, the course features mature tree-lined fairways and scenic views of the surrounding Lancashire countryside. Notable among the holes is the par-3 sixth, which measures 142 yards and features a pond directly in front of a heavily guarded green. The front nine exhibits more traditional parkland characteristics, while the back nine features more undulating terrain with links-style elements.

Facilities include a clubhouse with bar and restaurant, pro shop, practice areas with driving range and putting green, and golf lesson services.
