Finkbine Golf Course Top 100 Review

Finkbine Golf Course is an 18-hole public golf course located in Iowa City, Iowa, spanning 200 acres of rolling terrain. Named after W.O. Finkbine, who donated the land to the University of Iowa, the course is owned by the university's Athletic Department and serves as home to the Hawkeyes' men's and women's collegiate golf teams. Managed and operated by Troon Golf, the course features a driving range and is situated across scenic Iowa landscape with open fairways and varied topography.

The course is currently undergoing a comprehensive renovation project that began after the 2025 season and will continue throughout 2026. The modernization initiative focuses on improving playability across all skill levels while incorporating sustainable turf technologies designed to reduce water usage and maintenance costs. The project is privately funded through the university's athletics partnership with Troon Golf. The facility includes the Nagle Family Clubhouse, which houses an expanded pro shop, dining facilities, locker rooms, and event spaces.
