Falconhead Golf Club is an 18-hole par-72 course spanning 7,302 yards from the longest tees, designed by Chris Gray and opened in 2003. Located just west of Austin in the famous Hill Country of Texas, the course features five teeing options spaced between 5,170 yards and 7,181 yards, accommodating golfers of varying skill levels. The course has a rating of 75.0 and a slope rating of 129 on Bermuda grass.

Streams and creeks wind through the site shaded with gnarled oaks and cedar trees, with the ground full of movement from the tee boxes to elevated greens that put a premium on precise shotmaking and strategically placed bunkers. Wind is a prominent factor that complicates club selection. The variable-sized greens were built to PGA Tour standards and offer intriguing pin positions. The par-3 eighth hole is widely considered one of the very best and most beautiful par 3s in all of Texas, with a green on a limestone ledge that cantilevers above a creek and three cascading waterfalls.

The course was laid out by a team from the PGA Tour Design Center with the intent that one day it would bid to host a tour-quality tournament. Falconhead made a splash when it debuted as a daily fee public course in 2003, distinguishing itself as a rare public course in an area dominated by private clubs.
