The Executive Course at Hawaii Kai Golf Course is an 18-hole par 54 golf course located in East Honolulu, approximately 13 miles from Waikiki. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. and completed in 1962, the course measures 2,223 yards and features Bermuda grass greens and fairways. Situated at the base of the Makapuu Cliffs along Oahu's scenic eastern coastline, the Executive Course emphasizes short game practice with sloping greens that provide challenge despite its shorter length.
Every hole offers views of the Pacific Ocean, and on clear days players can see Molokai and Maui. The course is characterized by tropical trade winds that blow from the ocean, adding strategic difficulty to club selection and ball flight. The layout snakes upwards and downwards along the cliffside, providing panoramic coastline views and glimpses of Koko Head Crater from nearly every hole. The course is public and open to golfers of all skill levels, offering a casual setting for beginners, juniors, and those looking to develop their iron and short game skills.
Hawaii Kai Golf Course features refurbished clubhouse facilities including the Koko Head Room and Molokai Room, both with full bar service and banquet capabilities. The course operates alongside the adjacent Championship Course, also designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. (with William Bell), creating a comprehensive golfing destination in one of Oahu's most visually striking locations.
