Escuela Pública de Golf El Toyo ☆ Follow

The Escuela Pública de Golf El Toyo is a public golf academy and practice facility located in the El Toyo urbanization near Retamar, 13 kilometers from Almería city center in Andalucía, Spain. Inaugurated in 2017, it is the third public golf academy managed by the Junta de Andalucía. The facility is situated on the edge of the Mediterranean Sea at the entrance to Cabo de Gata-Níjar Nature Park.

The academy features a 250-meter-long by 100-meter-wide driving range with 60 tee positions across two levels, a putting green, a chipping green with three bunkers, and four padel tennis courts. The clubhouse includes changing rooms, toilets, medical services, a classroom, cafetería, and golf club storage. A 115-space parking lot provides direct access from Avenida de los Juegos del Mediterráneo.

Designed to make golf accessible through affordable pricing and instruction for all skill levels, the academy offers trimestral courses for children and adults, private lessons, and organizes tournaments throughout the year. The facility combines golf instruction with complementary sports amenities, serving as a training ground to develop players across Almería province and support the sustainability of regional golf courses.
