Ella Sharp Park Golf Course

Ella Sharp Park Golf Course is located on 562 acres along the banks of the Grand River in Jackson, Michigan. The course features varied topography ranging from relatively flat to heavily rolling and hilly terrain, providing challenging playing conditions. The park was established in 1915 following a bequest by Ella W. Sharp, with the golf course designed by renowned park designer Winiford C. Trout in collaboration with Fargo Engineering Company. Trout's original master plan included the golf course as a central feature of the park development. The course is situated within a comprehensive recreational facility that also includes a golf learning center, miniature golf, disc golf, hiking trails, gardens, and various athletic fields. The Grand River setting and natural topography create scenic views throughout the course, while the elevation changes and landscape design contribute to the challenge level. The course remains an integral part of Jackson's historic park system and continues to serve as a primary recreational facility for the community.
