Elephant Rocks Golf Course at Williams is situated in the shadow of Bill Williams Mountain at 7,000 feet elevation, providing a cool escape from the Arizona Valley heat. The course winds through stands of large Ponderosa pines, offering an elevated desert setting with scenic mountain views.

Originally established in the 1920s, the course underwent significant transformation in 1990 when designer Gary Panks reconfigured the layout, enhancing its reputation as a competitive venue. In 2000, Panks added nine holes to create a full championship course. The combination of the original and expanded holes presents a challenging layout that tests golfers across varying terrain through the pine forest setting.

The course utilizes reclaimed water for irrigation, reflecting sustainable management practices. The facility includes a clubhouse with a bar and grill, practice areas, and instruction services. Its high elevation and mountain setting create distinct playing conditions with cooler temperatures and thinner air compared to lower Arizona courses, affecting ball flight and strategy.
