El Nacional is an 18-hole golf course located in General Rodríguez, Buenos Aires, serving as the central sporting feature of the El Nacional residential development. The course is designed with a view toward future expansion to 27 holes. The specific design and construction work were carried out by Esteban Davicco y Asociados, with the greens built according to USGA standards. The project received approval from the Asociación Argentina de Golf (AAG) and was audited by agronomist Ricardo De Udaeta, who served as an advisor for the 2003 Argentine Open Championship. Situated within a 365-hectare area characterized by extensive green spaces and a unique microclimate, the golf course is integrated into a landscape featuring lakes, ponds, and dense vegetation. The setting includes more than 10,000 trees of various species, contributing to a natural environment that attracts local wildlife such as nutrias, partridges, and carpinchos. The clubhouse, known as Casa Julio Cortázar, offers panoramic views of the golf course and its surrounding gardens, providing a vantage point for players and spectators alike. The course hosts numerous tournaments and circuits throughout the year, attracting players sponsored by major companies. It is considered one of the premier golf facilities in the country, offering a high-quality playing experience that combines technical rigor with scenic beauty. The integration of water features and natural vegetation creates a distinct playing environment that distinguishes it from traditional urban developments. Beyond the golf course, the facility supports a wide range of sporting activities, including tennis, football, and equestrian sports. The development also features a large lake for nautical sports, a swimming pool, and a gymnasium.
