El Macero Country Club ☆ Follow

El Macero Country Club features an 18-hole parkland-style championship course designed by Bob Baldock. The course stretches to 6,862 yards from the furthest tees, with a rating and slope of 73.0 and 129, respectively. Four different sets of tee markers are available to accommodate various skill levels. The layout is situated in a setting that includes numerous planted trees, such as Modesto Ash, Silver Maple, Sycamore, Locust, and Pine, which supplement the indigenous Oaks, Cottonwoods, and Willows.

The course is located in El Macero, California, just a 12-minute drive from downtown Sacramento. It serves as the home course for the UC Davis Men's and Women's golf teams. The club also features a state-of-the-art short game practice facility, funded in part by UC Davis golf supporters, which includes two large putting greens and two deep bunkers with varying grass surfaces.

El Macero has a history of hosting significant golf events, having served as a qualifying spot for several USGA events. Notable PGA Tour players who have competed in tournaments at the club include Byron Nelson, Peter Jacobsen, Tiger Woods, and Nick Watney. The course has also attracted political figures, with former California Governor Ronald Reagan and Governor George Deukmejian known to have played there. The club has been managed by Troon Golf since 2007.
