Echo Hills Golf Course is located at 545 E. Thornton Ave in Hemet, California, operated as a public 9-hole golf course. The course first opened for play in 1959 and was designed by Ed Dover. It plays to a par of 35 with a maximum 9-hole distance of 2,229 yards, a course rating of 29.2, and a slope rating of 92.
The course features eight narrow, tree-lined short par fours with small greens measuring about 280 yards, with holes 6 through 9 having elevated greens, and one par three that measures 140 yards. The layout provides an accessible challenge for golfers of various skill levels, with its compact design and modest yardages making it suitable for practice and short-game development.
The course closed in August 2010 due to rising irrigation water costs, but reopened in 2013 under new management by Valley-Wide Recreation & Park District, which cut expenses through volunteer assistance and secured bargain water rates. The rehabilitation effort included seeding fairways, replanting greens, and constructing a new clubhouse patio with barbecue facilities.
