Dallas Country Club was founded in the year 1896 in the town of Highland Park in Dallas County, Texas. Tom Bendelow designed the golf course with the first round of golf being played in 1912. The course was renovated by designer Jay Morrish. The layout features a par 70, 6,266-yard course with a rating of 72.2 and a slope of 132.

The property spans over 117.5 acres of land with magnificent views of Turtle Creek and the historic skyline of downtown Dallas. Turtle Creek itself, which is the center of the course aside its clubhouse overlooking Turtle Creek, provides a variety of shot types throughout the round. The course presents a challenging layout for golfers of varying skill levels.

The member-hosts opened their course to visitors for several tournaments, including a state event in 1903 and the Texas Golf Association State Championship in 1906. Golfers from the club, along with those from several other area clubs, formed the Dallas District Golf Association in 1948 to promote the game and tournament play in the area.
