Daia Green Club is an 18-hole, par-72 championship course located in Hoxata, Hokota City, Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan. Established in October 1975, the 876,000-square-meter property was designed by Shiro Takahashi and Kaoru Ehara. The course is a members-only facility affiliated with the KGA and JGA, having transitioned to bent grass greens in May 2008. The layout is characterized by a strategic design that incorporates seasonal flora and varied terrain, offering a rigorous test for golfers. The course features dual tee setups and dual green surfaces to accommodate different skill levels and conditions. Players can choose between PenCross and A4 bent grass greens, with yardages ranging from 5,518 yards from the red tees to 6,512 yards from the black tees on the PenCross setup, and from 5,398 yards to 6,387 yards on the A4 setup. The course includes four sets of tees (black, blue, white, and red), providing varying difficulty levels with course ratings ranging from 68.3 to 71.1 for men and 70.5 to 76.2 for women depending on the tee and green combination. Key characteristics of the layout include specific local rules designed to manage pace of play and hazards. Out of bounds on the 4th hole and at the 1st, 5th, 7th, 16th, and 17th holes allow for a special relief rule where a fourth shot can be played from a designated tee to expedite play, excluding official club or formal competitions. All ponds on the course are marked as lateral water hazards with red stakes or lines. The course also features specific regulations regarding movable and immovable obstructions, including restrictions on playing from cart paths and specific rules for ball deflections by carts. The hole distribution includes two par-3s, six par-4s, and two par-5s on both the front and back nines. The front nine features a long 536-yard par-5 on the black tees at the 1st hole and a demanding 514-yard par-5 at the 8th hole. The back nine presents challenges such as a 527-yard par-5 at the 18th hole and a short but strategic 181-yard par-3 at the 13th hole on the black tees. The handicap distribution suggests the 4th hole (par-4) and the 15th hole (par-3) on the back nine are among the most difficult, ranked as handicap 2 and 14 respectively on the black tee setup.
