Cranberry Highlands is a daily fee municipal golf course that was voted Pennsylvania's best municipal golf course in 2009 by Golf Digest. The 186-acre, par 70 course was created to provide a quality test of golf for players of every skill level. Established in 2002, Cranberry Highlands was designed by Bill Love, and features multiple tees, ample fairways and large undulating greens with an all-bent grass layout. The Front 9 has 3 par 3s, 4 par 4s and 2 par 5s with a par of 35, while the Back 9 is slightly longer with a par of 35. Golfers find generous fairways and challenging green complexes, with numerous bunkers and tall fescue lining the fairways as key obstacles to a good score. The course is designated by Audubon International as a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary, affirming that it has maintained a high degree of environmental quality in planning, wildlife and habitat management, education, reduced chemical use, and water quality management. Located minutes from the PA Turnpike and I-79, only 30 minutes from downtown Pittsburgh.
