Cowdenbeath Golf Course is an 18-hole parkland layout built on the site of the former Old Dora Coal mine. Originally constructed as a 9-hole course completed in 1991 with a length of 3,315 yards, it was expanded to 18 holes and officially opened by Sir Michael Bonallack in 1996. The course now measures 6,207 yards from the medal tees and plays to a par 71 (par 70 from silver tees).
Located in Cowdenbeath, the course features gentle undulations and tree-lined fairways, providing a parkland setting full of character and charm. The layout is designed to present a suitable challenge for golfers of all abilities. The clubhouse was extended and upgraded in 1998, officially reopened by ex-provost James Cameron. The course benefits from its scenic setting and approachable design, making it accessible to both experienced and developing golfers while maintaining sufficient complexity to engage skilled players.
