Colt in 1912, the course has undergone multiple renovations by prestigious designers including Colt/Alison, Robert Trent Jones Sr., Robert Trent Jones Jr., and Tom Doak of Renaissance Golf Design. The most recent restoration in 2011 returned the course to Colt and Alison's original design philosophy with contemporary updates.

The club also hosted the 2004 Turning Point Invitational, drawing 30 past U.S. Amateur Champions. The championship layout provides challenge and playability for golfers of all skill levels, with recent renovations including updated greens, bunkers, tees, practice areas, and modern irrigation and drainage systems. Founded in 1897, the club combines its golf facilities with a clubhouse designed by renowned architect Albert Kahn and comprehensive member amenities.
