The Costa Esmeralda Golf Club is a 27-hole facility designed in the Links style, a format that imitates traditional Scottish courses with sandy soil, undulating terrain, and a lack of trees. The layout is characterized by bunkers guarding the holes, rough areas of sand that require precise play, and lagoons that wind through the fairways. The course features a mix of open zones and wooded areas, with the wind serving as a constant test of patience for players. The setting is defined by its proximity to the coast and the natural landscape of the region. The terrain includes sandy ground and hills, consistent with the Links definition which historically referred to coastal lands linking the sea with agricultural areas. The design incorporates these natural elements to create a challenging environment that relies on the wind and the sandy topography rather than dense tree lines. Tournaments are held throughout the year, including during vacation periods, for owners, visitors, and tenants. A notable event is the Torneo de Federación Mar y Sierra, played in October. This mixed tournament operates under a Medal Play format and is open to players with handicaps ranging from 0 to 36. The course is open to the public from Tuesday to Sunday, with operating hours from 08:00 to 18:30.
