Columbia Country Club is a private championship golf course located in Columbia, Missouri, established in 1921. The course features 18 holes with panoramic views of elevation changes and the meandering Hinkson Creek. The original nine holes were designed by J.M. Watson in 1921, followed by a second nine designed by Larry Packard in 1987, creating the full championship layout. In 2012, the internationally renowned Hurdzan/Fry design firm completed a comprehensive course redesign, earning the club Design Excellence recognition from the American Society of Golf Course Architects and Golf Inc Magazine's Award for Best Private Course Renovation in 2013/2014. The club has hosted notable events, including a 1942 exhibition match featuring PGA legends Ben Hogan and Sam Snead. Known as Columbia's "Original Club," it combines a rich tradition dating back over a century with modern amenities and continues to be recognized as one of the area's premier golf destinations.
