Cochiti Golf Course

Course Information Unclaimed

Cochiti Golf Club is an 18-hole, par-72 course stretching 6,817 yards, designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. and opened in 1981. Located between Santa Fe and Albuquerque on tribal lands belonging to the Cochiti Pueblo, the course sits on a remote plateau in juniper hills with unobstructed red rock mountain views. The course fits the soft natural contours of the existing land as fairways glide over gentle slopes and offer stunning views of the surrounding canyons. The course rating is 71.0 with a slope rating of 132.

The course features an intriguing layout with risk-reward opportunities, as aggressive lines off the tee are often challenged by snaking waste areas or small creeks and ponds. There are 61 bunkers that range in size and shape from average to huge monsters. Greens tend toward the large side; the putting surface on the fifth hole seems to disappear into an inviting canyon. The standout hole at Cochiti is the par-4 finishing hole, offering stunning views from the fairway and a demanding final tee shot over water.

The course has been ranked inside the top 5 from 1985-1995 and 1999-2001, inside the top 10 since 2005, and holds a 2025-26 ranking of 6th in New Mexico. The course has been ranked by Golf Digest as one of America's Top 75 Affordable Courses and listed among Golfweek's "America's Best Courses You Can Play" in 2007.
