Clearview Park Golf Course was founded in 1925 and was designed by landscape architect Willie Tucker. Located at the foot of the Throgs Neck Bridge in Queens, the course plays at 6,328 yards and is a par 70. The golf course lies on gently rolling terrain, and the course is located by Little Neck Bay with views of the East River and the Long Island Sound.
The course is designed for beginner to intermediate level players, with par ranging from 3 to 5 strokes. The somewhat hilly course contains both straight, open fairways as well as others lined with trees and forest. The course's signature hole is #17, which is a 395-yard, par 4 hole offering spectacular views of the Long Island Sound and Throgs Neck Bridge.
Originally named the Clearview Golf and Yacht Club, the establishment served as an exclusive retreat for New Yorkers, with notable member Governor Alfred E. Smith. Beginning in 1999, the course received a sophisticated irrigation system funded by Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani as part of a $9.8 million project to combat erosion and improve course conditions.
