Located in Onna Village, Okinawa, Chura Orchard Golf Club is a 18-hole, par-72 course designed by Midoriizo Asami and Hideo Takeamura. Opened in November 1970, the course is classified as a hilly, seaside layout covering approximately 600,000 square meters. It features a single green with Korean bentgrass and offers a course rating of 70.2. The total yardage from the regular tees is 6,138 yards, with the front nine measuring 3,096 yards and the back nine 2,925 yards. The terrain provides a mix of elevated tee shots and downhill approaches, with the 15th hole situated at the highest point of the course, offering a direct view toward the East China Sea. The layout includes several valley-crossing holes, such as the 3rd and 6th, and features doglegs on multiple holes, including the 1st, 5th, 13th, and 18th. The course is characterized by tropical vegetation, including banyan trees and Norfolk Island pines, which line the fairways and add to the distinct Okinawan atmosphere. Chura Orchard Golf Club is known for hosting the Daikyo Open, a tournament that has produced significant moments in its history. The course features five par-5s and five par-3s, with the 4th hole serving as the longest at 535 yards from the regular tees and the 12th as the shortest at 105 yards. The difficulty is distributed across the course, with handicap strokes assigned to specific holes to balance the challenge for golfers of varying abilities.
