Cherokee Country Club features a classic 18-hole Donald Ross links style course which opened in 1907. The par of Cherokee Country Club is 70, and the length is 6370 yards. Nestled on a bend in the Tennessee River, with sweeping views of the Smoky Mountains, Cherokee Country Club is an unprecedented private club. Today's course is an unusual and rather hilly track that features no fewer than six par threes and back-to-back par fives at holes 4 and 5. The course underwent significant redesign work by architect Ron Prichard, completed in 2008, which restored some of Donald Ross's typical design characteristics and added new bunkers.
Six sets of tees stretch the course from 4,841 to 6,370 yards. The course presents a notable challenge relative to its modest length, with a rating of 71.6 and a slope of 129. Founded in 1907, Cherokee Country Club is one of Tennessee's premier recreational and social clubs and a valued asset to the Knoxville community. The facility operates as a private members' club with comprehensive amenities including practice facilities and a professional golf staff.
