Chausuyama Golf Club is a 18-hole course located in the Chausuyama Kogen area, specifically in the village of Urigi, Nagano Prefecture. The course was constructed in 1975 and is situated on land that was formerly a pasture. The layout utilizes the natural terrain to create a traditional course experience, characterized by relatively low elevation changes that allow for comfortable play with four-person carts. A 3,000 square meter clubhouse offers a panoramic view of the entire course. The course presents a variety of challenges, including several dramatic tee shots. The first and tenth holes are both noted for their expansive, downhill tee shots that offer wide views. The second hole is a long par 5 that requires an uphill second shot, while the sixth hole is a short hole that requires a carry over a valley. The difficulty is heightened by the presence of slopes on the greens and various hazards, including bunkers and out-of-bounds areas. The course features a mix of doglegs and uphill or downhill approaches, such as the fifth hole, which is an uphill par 4 with a downhill second shot. Specific holes require careful management of distance and direction. The fourth hole is a long par 3 with a central mound on the green, while the twelfth hole is a short service hole with a central mound that complicates approach shots. The fourteenth hole is a par 5 that requires an uphill second shot on a dogleg right, making it difficult to reach the green in two shots. The eighteenth hole is a long par 5 that finishes with a sharp right turn and an uphill approach. The course is designed to allow players to experience the essence of golf while enjoying the fresh air of the highland setting.
