Located in Hiratsuka, Kanagawa, Hiratsuka Fujimi Country Club operates two distinct 18-hole, par-72 courses: the Hiratsuka Course and the Oiso Course. The facility is set in a landscape that offers panoramic views of Mount Fuji, the Hakone and Tanzawa mountains, and the Pacific Ocean. The terrain is characterized by rolling hills and undulating fairways that require careful shot selection and accurate putting. The Hiratsuka Course, which opened in 1962, features a mix of long par-5s and strategic par-4s. The first hole serves as a signature start, offering a slightly elevated tee shot with a direct view of Mount Fuji. The course includes several water hazards and doglegs, most notably the sixth hole, a par-3 that requires a carry over a valley, and the twelfth hole, a short par-3 where the green appears as an island in the water. The sixteenth hole is a demanding 620-yard par-5 that tests distance and accuracy. The Oiso Course, originally established as the Oiso Fujimi Country Club before merging in 1965, is known for its rolling terrain and long holes. Its first hole is a dramatic 556-yard par-5 with a 68-meter drop from the tee, providing a clear view of the Sagami Bay and Oshima Island. The course features several par-3s that require precise distance control, including the second and twelfth holes, both of which carry water. The eighteenth hole is a long, uphill par-5 that finishes the round with a challenging approach to a green that is not visible from the tee. Both courses utilize Bent grass greens, with the Hiratsuka Course featuring a mix of CY2 and Penncross varieties. The layout is designed to reward strategic play, with narrow fairways and slopes that can complicate lies. The club has a history dating back to its founding in 1961, with the Hiratsuka Course opening the following year. The Oiso Course was added to the club's portfolio after the merger in 1965, creating a facility that combines the strategic challenges of the Hiratsuka layout with the expansive, rolling nature of the Oiso layout.
