Matsuyama Seaside Country Club is an 18-hole, par-72 seaside course located in Kikuma-cho, Imabari City, Ehime Prefecture, Japan. Designed and constructed by Takenaka Corporation, the course spans 1.1 million square meters with a total elevation range from 85 meters at the third hole to 185 meters at the sixteenth. The layout is divided into an outward front nine and an inward back nine, offering distinct strategic challenges. The back tees extend to 7,051 yards, with a men's course rating of 73.6 and a slope rating derived from the provided metrics. The greens are Bentgrass (Pensacola), known for their speed and subtle contouring that requires precise distance control. The front nine is characterized as an orthodox, traditional layout, while the back nine demands more strategic thinking and shot placement. The course is designed to accommodate players of all levels, with tee distances ranging from 5,339 yards for ladies to 6,120 yards for front tees. The setting offers expansive views of the Seto Inland Sea, with the islands of Aijima and Koaijima visible from the clubhouse and various holes. The coastal location exposes players to sea and land breezes, making wind reading a critical component of scoring. Matsuyama Seaside Country Club has hosted significant amateur events, including the 1996 Chugoku Open and the 2004 Japan Mid-Amateur Golf Championship. The course is designated by the Japan Golf Association and is a member of the SGU and EGA. Facilities include a 15-strike driving range, practice greens, and a bunker practice area. The club also features a restaurant and natural hot spring baths. Night golf is available on specific holes, including the eighth and ninth on the front nine, and the seventeenth and eighteenth on the back nine.
