Nine Bridges CC ☆ Follow

Nine Bridges CC is an 18-hole championship golf course located in Jeju, South Korea, situated in a large basin at the foot of Halla Mountain. The course is divided into two distinct nines: the front nine, known as the Creek Course, and the back nine, known as the Highland Course. The design was created by Golf Plan USA, with significant contributions from Jay Lee, drawing inspiration from traditional Scottish links and uplands. The layout features rolling fairways, volcanic rock walls, and stands of maple, oak, and kryptomeria, with views of Mount Halla and the sea. The course is known for its difficulty and natural challenges, featuring more than 110 bunkers, including the first Scottish-style revetted bunkers in Korea. Water comes into play on approximately half of the holes, and the terrain varies from the enclosed, shrub-lined front nine to the open, heather-dotted back nine. The architects designed the course with multiple tee sets on each hole to accommodate different skill levels and to account for the variable winds typical of Jeju Island. Nine Bridges CC has established a significant tournament history, hosting the PGA Tour’s THE CJ CUP and the World Club Championship, an international amateur event that brings together champions from top golf clubs worldwide. The course was the first in Korea to be ranked among the Top 100 courses in the world by U.S. Golf Magazine, achieving a ranking of 41st in 2011 and later reaching 23rd in Golf Digest’s World’s 100 Greatest Courses list. It has also been recognized as the number one course in Korea by various publications and has received GEO certification for its environmental stewardship.
