Located in the Seto Inland Sea National Park in Sanuki City, Kagawa Prefecture, Shido Country Club is a 27-hole seaside course designed by renowned architect Giichi Sato. The property spans 1.3 million square meters and features three distinct nine-hole loops: the East Course, the Central Course, and the West Course. Opened in May 1964, the facility was expanded with the addition of the West Course in 1965, creating the full 27-hole layout that characterizes the club today. The course is built on natural terrain overlooking the sea, offering panoramic views of Shodoshima Island to the south, Awaji Island to the east, and the Yashima and Goiken mountains to the west. The layout utilizes the coastal landscape to create open fairways and dramatic sightlines. The club maintains a single bentgrass green across all 27 holes, providing a consistent putting surface for both self-play and caddie-assisted rounds. Each nine-hole loop presents a unique challenge with varying pars and yardages. The East Course plays to a par of 71 from the back tees, while the Central and West Courses also feature par-71 configurations. The West Course includes a notably long par-3 third hole at 250 yards, contrasting with the shorter seventh hole at 125 yards. The Central Course features a demanding opening hole at 559 yards, testing the drive off the tee immediately. Shido Country Club has a significant history in Japanese amateur and professional golf. It hosted the first Japan-Australia Invitational Golf Tournament in 1971, featuring players such as Shoichi Tsuboi and P. Thomson. The venue has also hosted the Kagawa Open, the All-Japan Prefectural Team Championship, and the National Senior Golf Exchange Tournament. In 2013, the course was selected by the golf magazine ALBA as one of the "100 Best Courses in Japan to Play Before You Die."
