Gwangju Country Club is located in Goksa-myeon, Gokseong-gun, South Jeolla Province, situated in a landscape defined by the balance between the Dongak Mountain range and the Seomjin River. The facility features three distinct nine-hole courses—Dongak, Seomjin, and Seolsan—each offering a par 36 layout with varying yardages and difficulty profiles. The courses are designed to integrate with the natural topography, utilizing the elevation changes and natural features of the region to create a varied playing experience. The Dongak Course, with a total yardage of 3,030 meters from the regular tees, is characterized by significant elevation changes and undulating terrain. It features a demanding par-3 fifth hole at 162 meters that plays uphill to a two-tiered green guarded by bunkers. The third hole is a 509-meter par-5 that climbs uphill with a dogleg shape, requiring precise distance control to avoid OB areas and bunkers on the right. The course also includes a long par-4 second hole at 398 meters, where a water hazard on the left demands a strategic approach to the downhill green. The Seomjin Course offers a total length of 3,035 meters from the regular tees and is noted for its open views of the Seomjin River and Dongak Mountain. The fourth hole is a 543-meter par-5 that provides expansive views but requires careful club selection due to wind and distance illusions. The ninth hole is a challenging 375-meter par-4 that doglegs sharply to the right, with OB risks on the right side if the drive is misdirected. The course features a mix of flat and uphill holes, including a 396-meter par-4 fifth that plays uphill to a green that is not visible from the second shot position. The Seolsan Course measures 2,968 meters from the regular tees and is known for its narrow fairways and significant elevation changes. The second hole is a 395-meter par-4 that plays downhill on a narrow fairway flanked by OB areas, requiring a controlled drive. The first hole is a 371-meter par-4 that features a complex elevation change, dropping sharply after the intermediate point before rising again to a two-tiered green. The third hole is a 158-meter par-3 that requires a carry over an 80-meter water hazard, while the ninth hole is a 332-meter par-4 that climbs steeply to a two-tiered green, demanding accurate approach shots and careful putting.
