Cattail Creek Country Club is an 18-hole championship golf course located in Glenwood, Maryland, situated on 168 acres of rolling rural terrain. The course was designed by renowned architect Willard Byrd, who had previously designed over 100 courses, and opened for play in July 1993. The property was selected primarily for its rolling topography and extensive water resources, with the namesake Cattail Creek running in front of the 12th tee and exiting past the green.
Founded in 1988 by 46 golf enthusiasts from Howard County, the club has grown into a full-service country club facility. Beyond golf, Cattail Creek offers a state-of-the-art indoor learning center, junior golf programs, tennis facilities with professional instruction, pickleball courts, a full-size outdoor pool, fitness center, and fine dining. The course is recognized as one of Maryland's top golf courses and maintains a reputation as a family-friendly, member-owned club that balances recreational play with professional event hosting capabilities.
