Cato Park Golf Course is a nine-hole, par-3 course located on Baker Lane on Charleston's West Side in Charleston, West Virginia. The course features 1,719 yards from the longest tees and maintains a course rating of 70.0 with a slope rating of 113. Originally built by the Edgewood Country Club around 1910, the golf course is one of West Virginia's oldest continuously operating courses and may be the longest in the state. The City of Charleston acquired the facility in 1969, eventually establishing the broader Cato Park in 1975 as part of the municipal recreation system.
The course is situated within a 90+ acre municipal park near the historic Edgewood District, characterized by late 19th and early 20th-century homes. As a par-3 layout designed for recreational play, the course appeals to golfers of various skill levels and has historically hosted tournaments and notable events. The facility operates as a public course open to all golfers. Cato Park serves as part of a larger recreational complex offering an Olympic-sized swimming pool, soccer fields, playgrounds, archery areas, and extensive hiking and biking trails throughout the property.
