Castle Creek Country Club ☆ Follow

Castle Creek Country Club is an 18-hole championship golf course established in 1948 in Escondido, located in northern San Diego County. Originally opened as the Circle R Country Club, the course was designed by Jack Daray, a notable architect whose credits include Olympia Fields Country Club, which hosted the 2003 U.S. Open. The par 72 course measures 6,638 yards from the championship tees with a 72.0 rating and 134 slope.

The course is characterized by oak-lined fairways, white sand bunkers, and undulating greens, with water hazards created by intermittent play over Moosa Creek throughout the layout. The terrain is relatively straightforward with mostly straight holes and limited doglegs, making it accessible to golfers of various skill levels while still offering challenge through its natural features. The course is situated amidst the majestic foothills near Temecula's wineries and the Safari Park, approximately 35 minutes north of downtown San Diego.

The facility includes a pro shop and The Gopher Hole sports bar and grill, which features 20 craft and standard beers on tap and scenic views of the course and rolling foothills. The clubhouse, designed in the style of European castles, serves as a venue for meetings, banquets, weddings, and special events. The course is open to the public and members.
