Casterton Golf Club, established in 1924, is an 18-hole course with grass greens. The course has a par of 72 and measures 5591 yards. Originally a nine-hole course, it was extended to 18 holes in 1967. The front nine is undulating while the back nine holes are flat. The course presents 19 bunkers and 3 dams, with water hazards and lateral water hazards coming into play on several holes depending on seasonal conditions.

Casterton features stunning pine trees and redgums believed to be more than 200 years old. The most outstanding feature of the course is the magnificent red gum eucalyptus, wattles and many other varieties of native plants that have been added by the members. Notable holes include the short dog-leg right par-four 15th and the short par-three 17th, which features a raised green.

The course hosted over 100 golfers in October 2019 for the Victorian Veteran Golfers Association's State Championship. Following this event, the clubhouse was full of people who did not want to leave on the final day.
