CapRock Ranch

CapRock Ranch is an 18-hole private golf course located in Valentine, Nebraska, designed by Gil Hanse and Jim Wagner. The course traces the caprock cliffs of the Snake River Canyon within the Sandhills of Northwest Nebraska. Its distinctive setting features dramatic geography unique to the region, where rolling Sandhills terrain descends sharply to caprock cliffs overlooking the Snake River canyon carved over 6,000 years. The layout incorporates natural stone formations and native Ponderosa Pine trees that frame the course throughout. The challenging terrain and natural landscape features create a visually striking and geographically distinctive golfing experience. The course's design takes advantage of the dramatic elevation changes and natural formations inherent to the Snake River Canyon landscape, making it a notable example of design that works with rather than against its natural environment.
