The 18-hole Canaan Valley course features 6,984 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. The course was designed by Geoffrey S. Cornish, ASGCA/(R) Ault, Clark & Associates and opened in 1968. The course is located in the Allegheny Mountains, specifically near Davis, West Virginia. The course is rated four stars by Golf Digest Magazine and is open April through early November.

The course features 65 sand bunkers and eight water hazards, providing challenge for experienced and novice golfers alike. Wide fairways and large greens keep the course a challenging yet relatively flat and forgiving design. The course rating is 73.3 with a slope rating of 130 on rye grass. Almost every hole provides views of the nearby mountains.

Nestled in the Allegheny Mountains, Canaan Valley Resort offers comfortable lodging and seasonal activities as a West Virginia State Park premier golf and ski destination. The course is part of the resort complex and is open to the public for daily play during its operating season.
