Real Club Pineda de Sevilla

Course Information

Address:
Andalucía
Spain

Real Club Pineda was founded as an equestrian club by a group of Army officers in the 1940s and occupies a 200-acre site on the south side of Seville, with members enjoying a wide range of sports including golf and equine activities. The original 9-hole course was expanded to eighteen holes by Jose Luís Bastarreche in 1992 then the layout was renovated by GTM Golf. Located three kilometres from Seville, Pineda is a Rodrigo and Felipe Benjumea design that opened in 1939 and was the first club in the province, with no other courses opening until 1991.

Pineda is mainly flat but follows a slight incline towards the Guadiara river, with wide fairways separated by abundant vegetation including notable palm and pine trees. The greens are fairly small and due to well positioned water hazards access to them can be tricky, with the par four 1st hole rated as one of the most difficult with a dogleg to the right. The club's racecourse, which is the only private track operating within the country, is actually crossed by a couple of holes during a round on the golf course.
