Located in San Buenaventura on the Osa Peninsula of Costa Rica, OSA Golf Course is a nine-hole layout designed by Canadian architect Dan Lavis. Construction began in early 2008, with the initial nine holes completed using Paspalum Platinum grass, a salt-tolerant hybrid variety. The course is situated in the Southern Pacific Zone, characterized by a jungle landscape that includes tree-lined fairways, undulating greens, and long carries over creeks. While plans for an additional nine holes were paused following the 2008 recession, the existing course remains open to the public daily from 7 am to 5 pm. The layout presents a challenging test through varied terrain, featuring elevated tees and greens, sand traps, and natural hazards. The first hole is a par 4 requiring a tee shot over a creek to a wide, elevated green, while the second is a long par 4 lined with five sand traps and an elevated green. Hole five, a par 3, is noted for its elevated tees and a deep fairway that rises toward a diagonally elongated green. The ninth hole, a long par 4, is flanked by two small mountains and features a large green with undulating slopes, offering scenic views of the surrounding area. Wildlife is an integral part of the course experience, with visitors encountering colorful macaws, over a hundred varieties of tropical birds, and species such as the Oropendolas and Jaguarundi. The course is accessible to walkers, though cart rentals are available for those preferring to ride. It is located approximately seven miles from Playa Ventanas, fifteen miles south of Uvita, and twenty-six miles from Dominical, serving as a distinct golfing option in a region known for its natural beauty and biodiversity.
