Club Campestre is an 18-hole, par-71 golf course located in San Jose del Cabo, Mexico, situated in the rolling foothills of the Sierra de la Laguna Mountains. The course lies approximately 15 minutes from Los Cabos International Airport and five minutes from downtown San Jose del Cabo. Designed by Jack Nicklaus, the layout features verdant fairways chiseled into sloping desert terrain that offer views of the Sea of Cortes. The terrain includes vast sandy waste areas, large flash-faced bunkers, and sinuous arroyos that snake across the fairways, requiring careful course management. The course is notable for its undulating, multi-tiered greens, which are described as among the most liberally contoured putting surfaces in Los Cabos. The facility is surfaced from tee to green in emerald-green paspalum, specifically Paspalum SeaIsle 1, making it the first course in the region to utilize this saltwater-resistant grass variety. This maintenance approach allows for consistent playing conditions under local desert conditions. The back nine ascends to higher ground, circulating players around a rolling desert plateau high above the sea. Key characteristics of the layout include the risk-reward par-5 7th hole, a double-dogleg that plays to a well-bunkered peninsula green. The par-3 11th hole stretches to 216 yards and plays to a large green with false fronts on all sides. The course offers five sets of tees ranging from 4,917 yards on the red tees to 6,996 yards on the black tees, with slope ratings varying from 117 to 139. It is a public course open to resort guests and visitors, subject to availability.
